This Wednesday, November 29th, was November’s character education assembly. This month focused on inclusiveness. Many of the students have displayed inclusiveness this month, but some have portrayed noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:

PS: Emily I.

SK: Luisa D. and Mel S.

Gr. 1: Jaeger G.

Gr. 2: Sophia S.

Gr. 3: Eva R.

Gr. 4: Bogdan P.

Gr. 5: Alexandra T.

Gr. 6: James W.

Gr. 7: David K.

Gr. 8: Jana M.

December’s character trait is COMPASSION.

Compassion is “helping those who are hurting.” It begins with sympathy, which is seeing someone’s pain and includes empathy, which is feeling someone’s pain.

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.”

-Dalai Lama

Ms. Stephanie and the grade 5s performed skits for students to understand the meaning of compassion. Great job grade 5s!

It’s that time of year again – the season of giving!

The Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that is fighting hunger in our communities. It’s an annual tradition for Prestige School to collect non-perishable foods for those in need.

From December 1st to 21st, students are asked to bring in a bag of non-perishable foods. Make sure to bring your bag to either Ms. Irene or Ms. Veronica to receive a heart.

Let’s make this year our most productive year yet!

On Tuesday, November 28th, students in grades 9 to 12 went to Variety Village to learn about the importance of providing opportunities for people of all abilities. Students learned the importance of welcoming, accepting and understanding that we are all able.

Students received the sibling and retake photo proofs this week. If you would like to order pictures you must do so before Wednesday, December 6th.

The high school student council will be holding a bake sale on Friday, December 8th. All proceeds will go towards next year’s prom.

Students are asked to donate baked goods and to bring money to buy delicious treats.

Prestige School will be closing at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 22nd. Students on the bus will also depart at 3 p.m.

Please make the necessary arrangements to pick your child up by 3 p.m. the latest.

Thank you for your cooperation.
