Volume 15 Issue 14 – December 7, 2018

This year’s winter concert is on Friday, December 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. It will be held at Northview Heights Secondary School at 550 Finch Ave. W.

Students from KG to grade 12 will be transported by bus from Prestige School to Northview Heights SS. Students will leave Prestige School between 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. Students need to pack an additional, non-microwavable meal to eat before the concert. All students must be picked up by their parents at the end of the concert. No buses are available.

If you prefer to drive your child to the concert you may, but your child must arrive before 5:40 p.m. Your child needs time to get in their costume and be prepared for the start of the concert.

An email went out this week regarding this information. Please respond to the email letting administration know if your child is taking the bus or getting a drive to the concert.

Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you next Friday at the concert.

The following students have been selected to represent Prestige School students in the high school student council for the 2018/2019 school year.

Co-Presidents: Alice I. (Gr. 11) and Vincent Z. (Gr. 12)

Co-Vice Presidents: Maria Z. (Gr. 12) and Mila T. (Gr. 11)

Treasurer: Ilia P. (Gr. 10)

Secretary: Valeriia T. (Gr. 12)

Social Coordinator: Patricia B. (Gr. 10)

Grade Reps: TBD

Thank you to Mr. Briggs for organizing and running the high school student council this year.

Prestige School will be closing at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 21st. Students on the bus will also depart at 2 p.m.

Please make the necessary arrangements to pick your child up by 2 p.m. the latest.

Thank you for your cooperation.

This year’s holiday food drive is from December 3rd to 20th. Each grade from KG to grade 12 will be competing to collect the most non-perishable foods. The teachers will be competing as their own “grade.” The grade with the most food items will win a pizza party.

Each grade will have a labelled box in their homeroom class. Students need to put their non-perishable foods in that box only. Please do not put food under the tree in the front foyer. Students need to show their homeroom teacher the food they brought in order to receive a heart to post on the “Give a Heart” tree located in front foyer. Ms. Irene will give out the red hearts for students that have brought in food.

If you have any questions, please ask Ms. Irene or Mrs. Fisher, they are running the drive this year. If a grade needs another box, please speak with Mr. Briggs or the high school student council, they are helping with the drive this year.

Prestige School’s high school basketball team will be participating in two all-day basketball tournaments on Tuesday, December 11th (U16) and Wednesday, December 12th (U20). Students must meet Mr. Quick at HoopDome in Downsview Park at 7:20 a.m. Students need to be dressed in sporting attire, should bring a lunch and plenty of water. Mr. Quick will provide students with the school jersey.

Good luck Prestige Panthers!
