Prestige School would like to welcome back all students and teachers from a well-deserved break.

The first week back to school has been productive and students are settling into their routines.

“And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been.”

-Rainer Maria Rilke

It’s that time of year again!

This month students in grades 1 to 8 will be writing speeches for the Royal Canadian Legion Public Speaking Contest in their English classes. At the end of January, students will present their speeches to the class and receive an English mark. The best students from each grade will have the chance to compete in this year’s public speaking contest.

The contest will take place Sunday, February 10th. English teachers will select participating students by Friday, February 1st.

Good luck to all students. Have fun!

Prestige School would like to welcome Mme. Sabrina to the Prestige family. She is the elementary and high school French teacher.

Attention high school students!

The end of the first term is coming to a close. High school final exams will take place from Monday, January 21st to Monday, January 28th. Use your tutorials wisely and study hard.

Good luck!

Ms. Vanessa and the grade three class donated $336.35 to Small Cures, a fundraiser to help cancer patients focus on getting better rather than focus on the financial strain of cancer.

An amazing Toronto-based artist, Zohra Kassam, heard about their efforts and painted a beautiful canvas for their classroom.

Prestige School is very proud of the grade three class. Great work!

During the coldest months of winter it is important that all students come to school in warm coats, gloves, scarves, hats, boots, and snow pants.

Students are outside three times a day; morning, lunch, and after school. It is very important that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. As a safety precaution during the winter, students do not go outside when the temperature is below -10oC, but are still required to come to school dressed for the weather.

Thank you for your cooperation.

January’s field trips are below. Please make sure to read permission forms and return forms and money before the due date.

KG to grade 2 will be going to Mississauga Living Arts Centre on Monday, January 28th.

Grade 3 – 8 will be going to the Ontario Science Centre on Wednesday, January 30th.

Students are expected to bring their own lunches and be dressed in full school uniform.

On Friday, January 11th, high school students received their preliminary report cards. These reports are to provide students feedback with their progress in their courses. Students still have time to improve their marks with the final exam.
