Prestige School would like to wish a happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers at our school.

May your day be filled with lasting memories. Thank you for all that you do.

On Friday, May 10th, select students in grades 5 to 7 participated in the SSAF U12 Track and Field tournament at the Toronto Outdoor Track and Field Centre, York University Campus. Students brought their best efforts and performed well.

Anton (gr. 7) placed:

3rd for 1500m

Prestige School is proud of you all!

The Second World War in Europe ended with Germany surrendering in May 1945. Both May 8th and May 9th are celebrated as Victory Day. Germans surrendered to the Western Allies (including Britain and the U.S.A) on May 8th, and a separate surrender took place on May 9th in Russia.

In Russian Literacy, Eva R. (gr. 4) presented for Victory Day. Thank you to Ms. Olga for organizing this informative presentation.

On Wednesday, May 8th, Ms. Olga and the grade 7s had a successful bake sale. All proceeds will be going towards to the end of year concert.

Thank you to all parents that donated food and to all students and teachers that purchased treats.

During the month of May, students will collect money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Prestige School’s goal this year is $600! “If Prestige School raises $600, then the class that raised the most will receive an ice cream treat.”

On Friday, May 24th, the whole school will participate in fun jump rope activities to celebrate raising funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Students can physically collect money in the envelopes they have received or students can ask family and friends to donate online at

Let’s make this the best year yet!

On Tuesday, May 7th, Ms. Cathrine and the grade 1s had their Thanksgiving Food Drive Pizza Party. In October, the grade 1s had brought in the most food drive items. Great teamwork grade 1s!

Have you checked out the Scholastic Book Fair preview? It’s popping up in the mornings in the front lobby. Stay tuned with upcoming contests!

Now that spring has arrived, Prestige School would like to remind parents, guardians, and students to bring their winter clothing home.

As well, students need to bring sunscreen, sun hats or caps, and a light jacket for cooler mornings.

Remember to check the weather before leaving for school, so that your child is dressed appropriately for the day. Thank you.
