On Monday, October 21st, kindergarten to grade 2 got to enjoy the beautiful fall outdoors at Downey’s Farm! Students participated in the Pumpkin Farm Tour, where they visited animals in the Kritter Korral, went on a wagon ride to see crops growing, learned all about pumpkins and got to go on a corn maze adventure! Students also made their own scarecrow, which they were able to bring back to school.
Students had a festive time embracing all
that is autumn. Prestige School can’t wait to go back again!
On Thursday, October 24th, high school students from grades 9-12 took a break from their studies to have some fun and unwind at Playtime Bowl.
There, students let their competitive sides shine by spending the morning bowling with their peers. After a delicious lunch of pizza, students then spent the afternoon playing laser tag. Who doesn’t love a mixture of hide-and-seek and tag?
Students had a great day full of teambuilding, physical exercise and fun.
Field Trip to The Living Arts Centre!
Tuesday, October 22nd, the grades 3-4 and on Friday, October 25th, the grades 5-8 went to The Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. Both groups participated in the Linocut print making and world rhythms workshops. Students got to explore elements of design while carving a soft linoleum block that they used for their very own prints. Students got to take home finished prints and their carved block!
During the world rhythms workshop, students became budding musicians as they played drums from all over the world, like the congas, the bass drum and the djembe. Students experimented and investigated how materials and sound are related to one another in a hands-on environment. This workshop encouraged collaborative thinking as students came together to create an orchestrated percussion performance.
Students had an amazing time!
On Monday, October 21st, the Prestige Panthers participated in the U10 Soccer Tournament held at Downsview Park. Prestige Panthers had a great time playing soccer as a team, using team work and communication. Even though the students did not win, we are still very proud of them for giving it their all and showing great school spirit.
Great work Panthers!
