MS READ-A-THON KICK-OFF ASSEMBLY
On Monday, January 27th, Mrs. MacBean held the MS Read-a-thon kick-off assembly in the gymnasium. Mrs. Macbean organized an educational speaker from MS Society Canada to come talk to our students about Multiple Sclerosis, the affects it has on those diagnosed and the importance of raising funds for those living with MS. Sabine from MS Society Canada did a great job getting students involved and motivated to start reading and raising money!
There are certain dates to keep in mind for the upcoming weeks:
Crazy Hair Day is on February 11th (please bring in $2, which will go toward the MS fundraiser).
Last day of reading (using the reading log) is Friday, February 14th.
Fundraiser money is due on February 20th.
CHARACTER TRAIT ASSEMBLY—INTEGRITY
On Tuesday, January 28th, the grade 6s shared a short story on integrity during this monthÆs character trait assembly. The grade 6s read the book ôStand Tall: A Book About Integrity.ö Students learned that integrity means knowing right from wrong, making positive decisions, keeping promises and staying true to themselves.
The grade 6s also presented the certificates for last month’s character trait, which was wisdom. Those wise winners were Atakan K. from JK, Madelaine Y. and David M. from SK, Alexander S. from grade 1, Ivanka G. from grade 2, Aydin K. from grade 3, Elizabeth S. from grade 4, Anthony N. from grade 5, Reginald Y. from grade 6, Hana M. from grade 7 and Sheina V. from grade 8.

KG– Gr.2 TRIP TO LIVING ARTS CENTRE
On Wednesday, January 29th, kindergarten to grade 2 students had a blast at Mississauga Living Arts Centre. They learned all about the solar system by watching the musical version of the Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System.
Students can’t wait to visit Mississauga Living Arts Centre again in the future!
CHINESE NEW YEAR LUNCH—HIGH SCHOOL
On Wednesday, January 29th, Ms. Vanessa organized a delicious lunch for high school students in celebration of Chinese New Year. High schoolers got to enjoy some Chinese cuisine such as shrimp dumplings, fried rice, shanghai-style noodles, chow mein and veggies. Thank you to Ms. Emma and Ms. Conway for helping serve food and Mr. Quick for helping with pick-up. A special thank you to the school for supporting this event and Ms. Vanessa for organizing it.
We wish all students, parents/guardians a happy Chinese New Year!
Gr. 3-8 TRIP TO THE CHEF UPSTAIRS
On Thursday, January 30th, students from grades 3-8 went to The Chef Upstairs to take part in a cooking class! Students were taught different techniques and prepared and cooked a three course meal consisting of caesar salad, soup, tacos (chicken, beef and veggie) and apple pie as dessert!
The students did a great job and enjoyed the meals they cooked!
