ASSEMBLY—CHARACTER TRAIT AND MATH AWARDS

On Tuesday, February 25th, we had our monthly character trait assembly! Mrs. MacBean and her grade 3 class performed a skit and poem to demonstrate initiative, which is March’s character trait. Grade 3 students also handed out the certificates for February’s character trait, which was integrity. Congratulations to the following students who showed the most amount of integrity this month: Alexandra K. in JK, Michelle G. in SK, Ariana N. from grade 1, Dominic L. from grade 2, William S. from grade 4, Ilana B. from grade 5, Elizabeth K. from grade 6, Beatrice S. from grade 7, and James W. from grade 8. Great work students!

At the end of the assembly, Mrs. Margold and Mr. Ile presented Math awards to students from grades 9-12 who took part in the Waterloo Mathematics and Computing Competitions. For students who wrote the intermediate math competition, a special congratulations goes out to Jacob Geonho L. for receiving a certificate of distinction and Alexandra P. for not only receiving the certificate of distinction, but for also receiving  a medal for ranking in the top 25% of contestants who wrote the contest. For those who wrote the senior math competition, a special congratulations goes out to  Irene Yu C. and Louis Tianchen Y. for receiving certifications of distinction, and to Patty Chen P. and Mia Yiqing W. for not only receiving certificates of distinction, but also medals for ranking in the top 25% of contestants who wrote the contest.

Great work!

Lastly, our MS Read-a-thon fundraiser has come to an end! We were able to raise $747.30 towards MS Society of Canada research and support.  We would like to give a big shout out to Mrs. MacBean for organizing this very important fundraiser.

Thank you!

KG– GR. 2 FIELD TRIP TO MESS FOR FUN

Students from kindergarten to grade 2 had a great time at Mess for Fun on Thursday, February 27th.  Students took part in an interactive pottery painting workshop getting to choose from a variety of different pottery designs to paint such as fish, cats, dogs, unicorns and more!

INCLIMENT WEATHER– FIELD TRIP CANCELLATION

As a result of unforeseen weather circumstances with a snow squall warning in Barrie and the surrounding areas, Friday’s gr.3-8 field trip to Horseshoe Valley had to be cancelled. Prestige School had to make the executive decision to cancel the trip for safety reasons; the safety of our students and staff is our first priority.

The field trip will be rescheduled for a day in the next couple of weeks. Please stay tuned for updates.

We are sorry for the inconvenience!
