Volume 16 Issue 25 – March 6, 2020

On Wednesday, March 4th, students from grades 3-8 had a great time tubing at Horseshoe Valley!

Students got to ride in comfort and style in a coach bus to and from the resort. When they arrived, students fitted for helmets and headed right to the slopes. Students got their hearts pumping with all-thrill, no-skill fun and then rode a magic carpet back up to the top! Students got to ride solo, in pairs or in groups.

Students were then able to enjoy the chalet to warm up and enjoy some lunch; students had access to the cafeteria for hot chocolate, poutine and more!

Students had a fun day bonding with their friends and are excited to go back!

The countdown is on! In less than a week, our annual International Cafe will be taking place! Homeroom teachers and students have been working hard to prepare for this special day.

Prestige School is ensuring that students handling and handing out food will be practicing proper food safety; these students will be required to wear gloves. Visiting students to each classroom are required to use sanitizer before eating (each class is supplied with a large 1 Litre bottle of hand sanitizer). Teachers will carefully monitor that all students, whether tasting or handling, are following proper hygiene procedures throughout the event.

Just a reminder that the International Cafe concert will take place at 3:00pm in the gym. Parents and guardians are also invited to tour the classrooms and enjoy the cuisine after the concert is finished.

Students from grades 12, 8 and KG just received their graduation photo proofs from My Grad Portraits by Brightpics. Please order your graduation portraits by Friday, March 13th.

Thank you!

As you are aware, Coronavirus continues to be in the forefront of  the news headlines and continues to spread throughout the world. At Prestige School we are doing our best to keep our school community safe by asking parents and guardians to keep any child home if he/she is displaying any flu symptoms (e.g. chills, cough, runny eyes, stuffy nose, sore throat, headache, muscle aches, extreme weakness and tiredness, loss of appetite), even if he/she does not have a fever.

As we approach the March Break (March 16-20) you are advised not to travel to any areas impacted by the coronavirus (covid-19) as the World Health Organization (WHO) is still attempting to contain symptomatic individuals and the spread of this deadly virus.á

Areas under Canadian governmentátravel advisory: China, HongáKong, Iran, Japan, Italy, Singapore and South Korea.

If your family decides to visit any of the affected areas, we will ask you to self-quarantine for 14 days upon your arrival to Canada and monitor your health before returning to Prestige School. We will support your family by providing schoolwork for your children to help them keep up with their studies. We understand that some of our families are planning to travel to sun destinations. Upon return after your vacation, please consider keeping your children at home. Again, we would provide them with homework to ensure that they keep up with any missed work.
