New Year’s Masquerade Ball

On December 16, Prestige School will host its first New Year’s Masquerade Ball, for grades 3-8 in their given cohorts(Grades 3-5, 6-8)! The Masquerade will include a short concert, as well as games with small prizes for participants. There will also be a competition for the prettiest and the funniest mask. We suggest that girls wear a ballroom dress and boys wear dress pants and a dress shirt. Students and Staff are looking forward to this event.

Food Drive

Prestige School’s annual holiday food drive has been a great success so far.  Many thanks to all students and teachers who have donated food, clothing,  toys, and hygiene products to help those in need during the holiday  season. A friendly reminder that the food drive will continue until December 17th. Thank you to Ms. Irene and Ms. Ivana for organizing this event  and giving our students the opportunity to give back!

Pictures with Santa

In the spirit of the New Year Celebrations, Santa will be paying a visit to  Prestige School on Thursday, December 17th.  

If you would like your child to take part in this photo session with Santa,  Brightpics will be offering professional pictures with Santa for $5.00 per  person (session fee). A greeting card with the picture will be provided with  no extra charge. 

This photo session is for all grades and is optional, so please let Ms. Yana  know as soon as possible if you are interested by bringing $5.00 session fee  to the office. 

KG – Grade 2 Concert

Kindergarten to Grade 2 students will be performing in their New Year’s Concert on Thursday, December 17th from the gym, via Zoom! Costumes for the concert are as follows:  

JK: wear red clothing  

SK: wear brown tops and dark coloured bottoms 

Gr. 1: girls wear white long-sleeve t-shirts and white tights or leggings, and boys wear the school uniform 

Gr 2: wear black tops and bottoms

High School New Year’s Party

Friday, December 18th, your teachers are organizing a holiday party for you before the winter break. Your party  will be during lunch and period 3 on  that day. One of the activities you can participate in is a yankee swap/Kris  Kringle game. 

Each student will need to bring in a wrapped gift valued at $10 to take part in the game. Your gifts can be given to Ms. Brittney by Monday, December 14th. Dominos pizza will be ordered for students’ lunch for a fee. For 2 slices of  pizza it is $4 for cheese pizza or $5 for pepperoni pizza. For 3 slices of  pizza it is $5.50 for cheese pizza or $6.50 for pepperoni pizza. Please bring  your pizza money and let Ms. Brittney know what kind of pizza you want  and how many slices, by Monday, December 14th, as well.

DECA Congratulations

Congratulations to the following high school students for qualifying for the next step in the DECA competition at the Provincial level on February 5, 2021:

Katherine R. (Grade 12) will be moving on to the Provincial level to compete in the HRM (Human Resource Management) category

Polina P. (Grade 10), Max M. (Grade 10) and Nikita C. (Grade 10) will be attending the LDA (Leadership Development Academy) Workshops

Congratulations to all DECA students and their outstanding work in both parts of the Regional competition!

Poetry Writing Contest

After careful consideration of the thoughtful and creative submissions to  our Remembrance Day poetry contest, the winners have been selected. 

Congratulations to Eva K. (gr. 4), Daniel O. (gr. 5), Morgan K. (gr. 6),  Maria B. (gr. 7) and Sasha B. (gr. 8). Students each received a certificate  and a little prize.  

We are still waiting for the official results of the Legion contest, but the  in-house contest was a great success. Well done, everyone!

Elementary Honour Roll

Now that elementary students have received their  first term report cards, Prestige School is proud to announce that the following students made it to the honour roll:

The honour roll is for students who have achieved a  grade in the A range in all subjects. Keep up the great work!

Early Dismissal/Last day of School

Friday, December 18th is the last day of  school before the holiday break. We will  have an early dismissal on this day. The school bus will be arriving at 1:45 pm, which means pick up is no later than 2:00pm! Parents and guardians, please plan your day accordingly so your child can be picked up on time.
