PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Parent-teacher interviews are next week from Monday, September 27th to Wednesday, September 29th. Parents will receive their interview times via email. Interviews will be taking place on Zoom. Please connect on time. We look forward to speaking with each of you.
TERRY FOX RUN
Prestige students have done an amazing job fundraising for the Terry Fox Foundation. Within one week, we surpassed our goal of $1000! Let’s see if we can double our goal!
Mrs. Amanda and Ms. Catherine have agreed to our new Terry Fox challenge. “If Prestige School raises $2000, then the two top fundraisers from each grade will get to throw a water balloon at Mrs. Amanda AND Ms. Catherine.“
To date, Prestige School has raised $1940! We are $60 away from our new goal of $2000. We have six days to reach our new goal. We can do it!
Donations are collected online at http://www.terryfox.ca/PrestigeSchoolToronto.
Prestige School will be participating in the Terry Fox Run around the neighbourhood on Thursday, September 30th during first and second period. The reveal of who gets to throw water balloons will occur on the same day.
Keep up the great work Prestige School!
ORANGE SHIRT DAY
Prestige School will be participating in Orange Shirt Day. This is a day when we wear an orange shirt to honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada and learn more about the history of those schools.
On Thursday, September 30th, students and teachers can give $1 to wear an orange t-shirt. Elementary students can give the dollar to their homeroom teachers, high school students can give to their teachers, non homeroom teachers can give to Mrs. Amanda by Tuesday, September 28th. All proceeds will go towards the the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. This fund’s goal is to improve the lives of Indigenous people by building awareness, education, and connections between all peoples in Canada.
Thank you for your participation.
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
The Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that is fighting hunger in our communities. Every year Prestige School collects non-perishable foods for the families in need at Thanksgiving. This year our food drive is from October 1st to 7th.
Ms. Ivana and Ms. Conway are organizing this year’s food drive. They are asking students to bring a bag of non-perishable foods. Please bring your bag to either Ms. Ivana or Ms. Conway and they will put a heart with your name on the board in the front foyer.
Let’s make this year our most productive year yet!
