CHARACTER EDUCATION ASSEMBLY

On Tuesday, January 25th, Prestige School had January’s character education assembly virtually for HONESTY. Many students have been honest this month, but some have been noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:

PS/JK: Daniel B.

SK: Victor G.

Gr. 1: Fyodor B.

Gr. 2: Sofia Z.

Gr. 3: Maria K.

Gr. 4: Cleo G. and Joshua C.

Gr. 5: Abigail G.

Gr. 6: Elizabeth S.

Gr. 7: Sonya R.

Gr. 8: Leon R.

February’s character trait is INTEGRITY, which is the quality of being honest or having strong moral principles. Ms. Jennifer and the grade 5s performed a skit to show examples of integrity. Great job grade 5s!

MS READ-A-THON

Canada has the highest rate of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with an estimated 100 000 Canadians living with this disease. It is often diagnosed in young adults aged 15 – 40.

Prestige School will be participating in the MS Read-a-Thon fundraiser. This year’s fundraising goal is $1500. Students will read as much as they can, from January 27th to February 28th. During this time, students should collect online donations from family and friends.

The MS Read-a-Thon has made online fundraising easy for parents to track their child’s progress and to celebrate every win. Each child can earn Reward Badges for the goals they achieve. Parents can make a page for their child on the Prestige School fundraising page and encourage family and friends to donate.

There will be three ways we will be raising money to reach our goal.

1) Online donations: Click https://www.msreadathon.ca/fundraisers/PrestigeSchoolToronto to donate today!

2) Valentine’s Day: On Monday, February 14th, students can pay $2 to wear red, white, or pink to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Those students that decide not to pay $2, will have to wear school uniform.

3) Crazy Hat Day: On Friday, February 25th, students can design a hat creatively and wear it at school. The student with the craziest hat will win a prize. Students that wear a hat will pay $2.

Let’s work together to meet our goal and make this the best year in MS fundraising!

NEW SCHEDULE

High school students will be starting their second semester on Tuesday, February 1st. That means a schedule change for the entire school. Your child will receive a new schedule next week and it will be posted on Google Classroom.

Thank you for your cooperation.
