Volume 18 Issue 11 – February 25, 2022

On Friday, February 25th, Prestige School had February’s character education assembly virtually for INTEGRITY. Many students have shown integrity this month, but some have been noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:

PS/JK: Gabriel K.

SK: Lydia P.

Gr. 1: Fyodor B.

Gr. 2: Yohanna R.

Gr. 3: Alexander S.

Gr. 4: Luisa D. and Alice Z.

Gr. 5: Maya P.

Gr. 6: Mete S.

Gr. 7: Nicolas B.

Gr. 8: Richard S.

March’s character trait is INITIATIVE, which is the ability to be resourceful and work without always being told what to do. Ms. Ivana and the grade 1s performed skits to show examples of initiative. Great job grade 1s!

On Wednesday, February 23, students in grades 9 to 12 wrote the following University of Waterloo mathematics contests: Pascal Contest (gr. 9), Cayley Contest (gr. 10), Fermat Contest (gr. 11). A few students in grades 7 and 8 took the challenge of writing the grade 9 contest. Good luck to all students!

On Monday, February 28, student in grades 5 to 8 will be participating in the Math League Contest. Good luck!

Prestige School’s goal for the MS Read-A-Thon was $1000. Students and teachers surpassed this goal and raised $1091.25! Everyone should be proud of the great work accomplished this year. The MS Society of Canada will be very grateful for Prestige School’s donation.

Thank you to everyone that donated and to Mrs. Amanda for organizing the MS Read-A-Thon.

Crazy Hat Day was a success! On Friday, February 25th, students and teachers were extremely creative with their hats. All proceeds went towards the MS Read-a-Thon.

Congratulations to the following students for having the craziest hat in each grade:

SK: Nicole F. and Sawyer

Gr. 1: Andrew (best student made hat in whole school), Vasilisa, and Fyodor

Gr. 2: Roman (craziest hat in the whole school), Atakan, and Katya

Gr. 3: Ariana and Sally

Gr. 4: Elia

Gr. 5: Abigail and Eva K.

Gr. 6: Anthony S.

Gr. 8: Eric

Grades 1 and 2 had most students participate and they were all outstanding hats. Thank you to all that participated. Everyone looked amazing!
