MATHEMATICS COMPETITIONS

Students have been busy with University of Waterloo mathematics competitions this month. On Wednesday, April 2nd, students in grade 12 wrote the Euclid Contest. On Thursday, April 3rd, students in grades 9 to 11 wrote the Fryer Contest (gr. 9), Galois Contest (gr. 10), Hypatia Contest (gr. 11).

Students in grades 3 to 5 will be writing the Math League Contest on Wednesday, April 16th and Thursday, April 17th during their math classes.

U20 BADMINTON

Mr. Ile and select high school students participated in the SSAF U20 Badminton Tournament. Students played their best and had fun. Thank you, Mr. Ile for accompanying students. Great work students, and Prestige School is proud of you all.

COUNCILLOR CHENG

Mrs. Amanda and the grade 4s are learning about Canadian government in social studies. On Wednesday, April 9th, the grade 4s had a special visitor from Willowdale’s city councillor. Councillor Cheng took the time to speak about what working in City Hall is like and answered any questions students had. Thank you to Mrs. Amanda for organizing a memorable event.

GRADUATION AND PROM

We are delighted to announce that the graduation ceremony for our grade 8 and grade 12 students, will take place at Bomond Restaurant on Thursday, June 19th at 6:30 p.m.

The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. To allow ample time for photographs before the ceremony, we kindly request that you and your child arrive by 6:00 p.m. A professional photographer will be available on-site throughout the evening to capture these special moments with students, their families, and teachers.

We warmly invite parents/guardians to join us for this special occasion. To assist us in making the necessary arrangements, we kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as possible, indicating the number of guests attending, so we can plan the seating accordingly.

Event Details & Pricing:

Graduation Ceremony & Hors D’oeuvres Social

Time: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Cost: $70 per student (for those not attending prom). Each graduate may bring up to five family members at no additional cost once the $70 fee has been paid.

Prom Night Celebration:

Time: 7:30 – 11:30 p.m.

Cost: $180 per student (includes admission for up to five family members at no additional payment if prom fee is paid)

Dress Code:

Grades 8-11 (Girls): No long dresses, only formal shoes (heels or flats), and dress pants or skirts are accepted.

Grades 8-12 (Boys): Formal dress shoes mandatory, suit and tie/bowtie required.

Grade 12 (Girls): Floor-length formal dresses, formal shoes (heels or flats), and dress pants or skirts are accepted.

Students attending prom night will remain under teacher supervision and enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring:

a gala dinner, a lively dance party with two DJs, a fun photo booth, and much more!
