INTERNATIONAL WINNERS

For the first time in Canadian history a young dance couple from Toronto, training at Grand Dance Studio, recently achieved top honor at the world-renowned Blackpool Dance Festival in the UK. The Blackpool Dance Festival is often compared to the Olympics of ballroom dancing due to its prestige, international scale, and the level of competition it attracts.

Maya (gr. 8) and her dance partner Mark placed 1st in the Junior Under 14 Ballroom category. This is a major achievement for Canadian dancers at one of the most prestigious ballroom competitions in the world.

Maya and Mark’s story even made it on television! CTV News covered their story and interviewed Maya and Mark about their amazing achievement. Check it out here.
