CHARACTER EDUCATION
This Tuesday, May 27th, was May’s character education assembly. This month focused on confidence. Many of the students have been confident this month, but some have been noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:

June’s character trait is OPTIMISM, which means doing your best to have a positive mental attitude and view the future in a promising light.
Ms. Irina and the grade 1s said encouraging words and had the whole school dance to a happy song to show what optimism means. Great work!
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
Prestige School’s Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser has started off with a bang! Mrs. MacBean has set this year’s goal as $1000. Students have raised over $700 in a week. Amazing! There is still time to donate online or by cash. Help us reach our goal before June 10th.
This year’s Jump Rope for Heart event will take place on Tues. June 3rd during Sports Day. Be prepared to jump and be active!
ACHIEVEMENTS IN MATHEMATICS
On Tuesday, May 27th, students in grades 3 to 8 received certificates for various mathematics competitions. Students in grades 3 to 7 participated in the Math League contests. Grade 4 and 5 students took a challenge and wrote the grade 5 and 6 Math League contests. Congratulations to these students that excelled.

1st: Max B. (received a mathematics book for his high score)
2nd: Lucas
3rd: Brayden and Chenyu
Grade 5 Contest:
1st: Leo (gr. 5 – received a mathematics book for his high score) and Chenyu (gr. 4)
2nd: Julia (gr. 5) and Lucas (gr. 4)
3rd: David (gr. 5), Max B. (gr 4), and Brayden (gr. 4)
Grade 6 Contest:
1st: Charles (gr. 6) and Leo (gr. 5)
2nd: Aya (gr. 6) and David (gr. 5)
3rd: Stephanie (gr. 6), Yanfu (gr. 6), Michelle (gr. 5), and Emma (gr. 5)
Grade 7 Contest:
1st: Seohee
2nd: Dominic, Eva, Lucas, Amrit
3rd: Joshua and Tamara
Students in grade 6 to 8 participated in the Canada Jay Mathematical Competition for the first time. Students did well and received certificates of participation.
SSAF TRACK AND FIELD
Prestige students in grades 2 to 8 have been training all year for the SSAF track and field events. They ran their best and had a fun day. The following students won medals for their events. Congratulations and Prestige School is proud of you all!

Katya (gr. 5): 1st place 400m and 1st place standing long jump
Ben (gr. 5) – 2nd place 100m relay
David (gr. 5) – 2nd place 100m relay
Alexander (gr. 6) – 2nd place 100m relay
Kwon (gr. 6) – 1st place running long jump and 2nd place 100m relay
Maya (gr. 8) – 3rd place 1500m
Honorable mentions:
Eva, Cleo, Maya and Abigail performed very well in their relay race.
Eva and Cleo raced very strong 100m races placing in top 10.
Dominic had a good 100m race.
Amrit, Tamara and Luisa finished the 1500m race in the top 10.
