CHARACTER TRAIT ASSEMBLY

On Tuesday, September 30th, Prestige School held this year’s first character education assembly for COOPERATIVE. Many students have been cooperative this month, but some have been noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:
JK: Cynthia
SK: Amelia
Gr. 1: Arvin
Gr. 2: Alec
Gr. 3: Jayden
Gr. 4: Ronalda
Gr. 5: Uliana
Gr. 6: Ava
Gr. 7: Emily

October’s character trait is INCLUSIVITY, the means by which individuals from all backgrounds are engaged, integrated, motivated, and valued. Mrs. Amanda and the grade 8s prepared skits to show what inclusivity looks like. Great job grade 8s!
TERRY FOX RUN

On Thursday, September 25th, Prestige students participated in a modified Terry Fox School Run. Due to the rain, students ran in the gymnasium to carry on Terry’s legacy of the Marathon of Hope. Prestige students surpassed this year’s goal and raised $2741! Amazing job this year! Thank you to everyone that donated.
Since we exceeded our goal, students will receive casual Fridays in October! Thank you to Mrs. Amanda for planning and organizing the Terry Fox Run every year. Check out our gallery for more pictures.
DECA

On Tuesday, September 30th, Prestige School’s DECA club had their first meeting with other DECA teams around Ontario. Ms. Yana and our DECA team went to the Fall Symposium at Chateau le Jardin. Students had fun networking with other students and teacher advisors.
This year’s DECA club consists of 15 students. Richard (gr. 12) is the President of our DECA club and Gleb (gr. 12) is the Vice President. Here’s to a great DECA year for our students and Ms. Yana.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

The Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that is fighting hunger in our communities. Every year Prestige School collects non-perishable foods for the families in need at Thanksgiving. This year our food drive is from September 25th to October 9th.
Ms. Michelle and Ms. Irina are organizing this year’s food drive. They are asking students to bring a bag of non-perishable foods. Please bring your bag to Ms. Michelle in the kindergarten room. Let’s make this year our most productive year yet!
