Academic Programs

10 children per teacher. French from the beginning. The years that shape everything.

Junior & Senior Kindergarten

Inquiry, play, and guided discovery — built around how young children actually learn, with the warmth and individual attention these formative years deserve.

About the Program

The early years are the foundation for lifelong learning and development.

At Prestige School, we recognize the critical importance of a child's early experiences in shaping their social development, learning approaches, and overall worldview. During these formative years, children are naturally inquisitive, developing an understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Our experienced educators have designed a rigorous, inquiry-based Kindergarten program that is carefully tailored to meet the developmental needs of young learners. Through purposeful play and guided exploration, children build essential foundational skills in mathematics, language, fine and gross motor development, and social interaction — skills that support both future academic success and personal growth.

Understanding that every child develops at their own pace and brings unique strengths across subject areas, we maintain a 10:1 student–teacher ratio. This enables us to provide meaningful, individualized attention and responsive instruction for each learner. As a result, our students are supported to grow with confidence and make strong, sustained developmental progress.

Conversational French begins in Junior Kindergarten through songs, games, and daily interaction — not translation exercises.

FAQ

Kindergarten questions.

At what age can my child start Junior Kindergarten?

Children entering Junior Kindergarten must turn 4 by December 31 of the school year they are enrolling in. Senior Kindergarten follows the year after.

Is Kindergarten full-day at Prestige School?

Yes. Our Kindergarten program runs full days. School hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with before-care from 7:30 a.m. and after-care until 6:00 p.m. — all included.

Do children learn French in Kindergarten?

Yes. French instruction begins in Junior Kindergarten at Prestige School. We introduce it conversationally through songs, games, and interaction — not formal grammar.

What is the student-teacher ratio in Kindergarten?

Our Kindergarten maintains a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio. This allows our teachers to work with each child individually and adapt the program to varying developmental stages.

Is there outdoor time during the day?

Yes. Kindergarten students have outdoor play in the morning and after lunch daily. Physical activity is integrated throughout the day, not saved for the end.

My daughter started reading in JK — not because they pushed her, but because the 10:1 ratio meant her teacher noticed she was ready and gave her the right books. At her old daycare, she would have waited another year.
