DECA Achievements — Ontario Provincial Competition

This past weekend, February 5th to 7th, the Prestige School DECA Chapter proudly participated in the Ontario DECA Provincial Competition. The event brought together 281 school chapters. and 7,737 attendees from across the province, making it one of the largest and most competitive conferences of the year.
As part of the competition requirements, students completed a written exam and participated in two role-plays facing judges, where they were required to analyze and solve individualized business case studies under time pressure.
Our students competed across a wide range of categories:
Nicolas (gr. 11) – PEN (Principles of Entrepreneurship) – received 3 medals and top 15
Ariella (gr. 11) – PHT (Principles of Hospitality & Tourism) – received a medal and high results in role-plays
Gleb (gr. 12) – HRM (Human Resource Management) – received a medal
Richard (gr. 12) – PFL (Personal Financial Literacy) – received a medal
Emre (gr. 12) – SEM (Sports & Entertainment Marketing) – received a medal
Andrei (gr. 11) – RMS (Retail Merchandising)
Ariel (gr. 10) – BSM (Business Services Marketing)
In addition, Michael (gr. 9) participated in the full-day Leadership Development Academy (LDA) workshop.
All students performed very well, demonstrating strong preparation, professionalism, and resilience in a highly competitive environment. We are especially proud of Ariella (gr. 11) and Nicolas (gr. 11), both first-year competitors, who achieved outstanding results and brought home medals.
Nicolas (gr. 11) earned 3 out of 4 possible medals in his category and ranked among the top 15 students in Principles of Entrepreneurship, narrowly missing qualification for ICDC – an exceptional accomplishment for a first-time competitor.
Congratulations to all participants and to the Prestige School DECA Chapter, along with their advisor and mentor, Ms. Yana, for their dedication and excellent work.
The Prestige School DECA Chapter will hold their business lunch on Tuesday, February 17th to review competition results and celebrate students’ achievements. Thank you to Ms. Yana for helping students prepare and for accompanying them to competitions.
