CHARACTER EDUCATION

Tuesday, December 16th, was December’s character education assembly. This month focused on generosity. Many of the students have been generous this month, but some have been noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:

January’s character trait is ACCOUNTABILITY, which means being responsible for your own actions. Mr. Luka and the grade 4s recited a poem to teach students about accountability. Great work!

SMART BOARDS

Thank you to all students and their families for participating in the fundraisers organized by the High School Student Council under the guidance of Ms. Yana. Your dedication and teamwork helped us achieve our goal of purchasing additional smart boards for Prestige School, which will benefit our entire school community. We are pleased to share that we are acquiring two additional smart boards: one for the second floor and another for the first floor.

We are grateful for the many successful fundraising events and for the numerous families who contributed to this initiative. A special thank you goes to Ellie’s (gr. 7) uncle, Alan, for his guidance and assistance in helping secure a great deal.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the parents of the following students for their generous lump-sum donations toward the purchase of the smart boards and rolling smart board stands:

HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE

Prestige School would like to thank everyone who donated new toys to the 59th Annual CP24 Chum Christmas Wish Campaign. You have brought happiness to numerous children during the holidays. Special thanks to Mrs. MacBean for organizing the toy drive every year. Thank you to the students in grades 1 – 8 that helped pack up the presents for pickup.

WINTER CONCERT

This year’s winter concert was How the Grinch Stole New Year’s. On Friday, December 12th, parents, teachers, and students were amazed and enjoyed the concert. A big thank you to Ms. Sabrina for creating and organizing the entire show. Thank you to Ms. Ashley and Ms. Tanya for the beautiful decorations. Thank you to all homeroom teachers for preparing the homeroom performances and for practicing with their students.

FIELD TRIPS

Prestige students were engaged during the December field trips. On Friday, December 5th, students in grades 5 to 8 went downtown to watch a Raptors 905 basketball game. Students had fun cheering with their friends, and were ecstatic that the Raptors 905 won!

On Friday, December 12th, students in grades 9 – 12 went to Activate. Students had an amazing time working together to complete numerous fun activities. Check out our gallery for more pictures.
