HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL

Prestige School would like to present this year’s high school student council:
President – Nicolas (gr. 11)
Vice Presidents – Alice and Ilana (gr. 11)
VP Social Event Coordinators – Andrei (gr. 11), Richard (gr. 12), and Ariel (gr. 10)
VP of Relations – Eric (gr. 12)
VP of Digital Media – Nathan (gr. 11)
Artistic Director – Ariella (gr. 11)
Grade 10 Reps – Tom and Matthew
Grade 12 Reps – Mia and Jason
Head of High School Student Council – Ms. Yana
These students earned their positions through their enthusiastic participation in all school fundraisers and by successfully reaching their goal, with various fundraisers and parent donations, to purchase two additional LG smart boards with stands for the school community.
The student council has set ambitious new goals:
Upgrading the school sound system to enhance assemblies, concerts, and karaoke nights.
Designing school spirit wear for Sports Day and graduation sweaters for the grade 12s.
Raise funds and visit Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary in March, giving students an opportunity to support an important animal welfare cause.
Exploring the addition of a vending machine, offering students a selection of snacks to purchase.
Stay tuned for these upcoming events in January and February:
Two separate movie nights, one for KG to grade 3 and another for grades 4 to 6, taking place the last week of January. These events will make great use of the new LG smart boards and bring students together for a fun and memorable experience.
Candy Grams will be available for purchase leading up to Valentine’s Day, so that students can send a sweet message to their friends and classmates.
Thank you for your support in the above initiatives.

HIGH SCHOOL FINAL EXAMS

The high school exam period begins next week. High school students will be busy studying and writing exams fromJanuary 19th to 26th.
Exams require concentration and quiet. Prestige School is asking all elementary students to respect our high school students during this time. Please refrain from making noise in the hallways.
Good luck to all our high school students!
SCHOOL UNIFORM REMINDER

Prestige School has an enforced dress code. Students must wear the school crested white top, navy pants, and black dressshoes. The vest and sweater must have the school crest.
Many students have been wearing non-uniform sweaters, which disregards the school dress code. Please order your child aschool crested sweater for the winter months, so they will not receive warning emails or letters.
Thank you for your cooperation!
INDOOR/OUTDOOR SHOES
Students must have separate indoor and outdoor shoes. During the winter, students should have warm boots for outdoor shoes. Indoor shoes should be black dress shoes. For physical education classes, students should have separate clean running shoes.
Please remember shoes need to be changed after recess and to bring shoes back after the weekend or breaks.
Thank you for your cooperation!
WINTER WEATHER
Winter in Canada means freezing temperatures at times. Administration would like to remind students to come to school dressed for the winter weather. This means long sleeves, winter hats, scarves, gloves, boots, winter coats and snow pants. Students should be prepared for going outside everyday. Teachers check the weather before recess. If the temperate is below -10C, then students will have indoor recess.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
