CHARACTER EDUCATION


Tuesday, May 26th, was May’s character education assembly. This month focused on resilience. Many of our students have been resilient this month, but some have been noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:

June’s character trait is DETERMINATION, which is staying focused and overcoming challenges to finish a goal, task or objective. Ms. Ashley, Ms. Michelle and the kinders sang “Get Back Up Again” from Trolls to describe the meaning of determination. Great work!
INTERNATIONAL CAFE









On Wednesday, May 20th, Prestige School hosted its annual International Café. Students toured nine different countries.

Grade 2: Mexico
Grade 3: Ireland
Grade 4: Jamaica
Grade 5: Brazil
Grade 6: Portugal
Grade 7: Canada
Grade 8: Austria
Students learned about each place and tried traditional cuisine. Check out our gallery for more pictures. A link was also shared with all pictures and videos via Google Classroom, please use your child’s student email to access the link.
Prestige School would like to thank all our teachers for their hard work leading up to and on International Café. The classes looked amazing!
MAY FIELD TRIPS


On Thursday, May 7th, Mrs. Amanda and the gr. 4s toured City Hall for social studies. Students went into the chamber where the city officials meet to discuss issues. They got to sit in the officials seats! They also saw the Mayor’s office and lounge, as well as met a staff member of the Mayor. Everyone had fun seeing where the municipal government works! On Thursday, May 21st and Friday, May 22nd, Prestige students in KG to gr. 8 went to Treetop Trekking. Students had fun exploring the Treewalk Village, Upla, and aerial courses. Check out our gallery for more pictures.
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Prestige School’s Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser has begun. Mrs. MacBean has set this year’s goal as $2500. Help us reach our goal before June 12th by donating online or by cash. Thank you for your donations.
This year’s Jump Rope for Heart event will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd during Sports Day. Be prepared to jump and be active!
SPORTS DAY

Prestige School will be having Sports Day on Wednesday, June 3rd. Please check your child’s homeroom Google Classroom for important information:

Students are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing their assigned team colour. We are looking forward to a fun-filled day of activities and school spirit!
REMINDER

Please note that Friday, June 5th, is the graduation ceremony and prom for our grade 8 and 12 students. This means all students must be picked up by 4:00 p.m. at the latest. Our complementary after-school program will be cancelled for the day. The school bus will leave promptly at 3:45 p.m.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask that you make the necessary arrangements for after-school care. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
SK GRADUATION AND CONCERT

We are excited to invite you to our End of Year Concert and SK Graduation, taking place on Thursday, June 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Northview Heights Secondary School. It promises to be a spectacular evening filled with memorable performances and special moments. You will not want to miss it!
Tickets are now on sale for $20 per person.
Thank you to those families who already reached out with questions and submitted their payments.
Please note:
Prestige students do not need to purchase a ticket.
All parents/guardians and guests are required to purchase tickets.
All tickets must be purchased no later than Monday, June 8th.
No e-transfers will be accepted after this date.
