Mathematics
The English program for Grades 9 to 12 at Prestige School includes a blend of compulsory and optional courses, designed to strengthen core competencies in listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing, and representing.
Compulsory Courses:
In Grades 9 and 10, students are required to take one compulsory English course per grade. These courses are offered in two types: academic and applied. Similarly, in Grades 11 and 12, students must complete one compulsory English course per grade, with options spanning university preparation, college preparation, and workplace preparation courses.
Academic Courses (Grades 9 & 10):
These focus on developing knowledge and skills through theoretical study and abstract problem-solving, incorporating practical applications where appropriate.
- Applied Courses (Grades 9 & 10): These emphasize the essential concepts of the subject, with a focus on practical applications and concrete examples in familiar contexts.
- Open Courses (All Grades): Designed to prepare students for further study and general education enrichment, suitable for all students.
Course Types for Grades 11 and 12:
University Preparation Courses: Equip students with skills and knowledge for university program entrance requirements.
- University/College Preparation Courses: Prepare students for specific programs at universities and colleges.
- College Preparation Courses: Focus on skills and knowledge needed for most college programs, apprenticeships, or training programs.
- Workplace Preparation Courses: Tailored for students planning to enter the workplace directly after graduation or to pursue apprenticeship/training programs.
- Open Courses: Aim to broaden knowledge and skills in various subjects, preparing students for societal participation without specific focus on post-secondary or workplace requirements.
