CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence! That’s two decades of empowering young minds, fostering brilliance, and shaping futures at Prestige School.

From our very first steps to this remarkable milestone, we’ve remained dedicated to providing top-tier education and unwavering support to our students. Here’s to the countless achievements, memories, and aspirations that have filled our halls over the years. Here’s to the next 20 years of brilliance!

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

Prestige School is pleased to welcome all of our students, new and old, for the 2023/2024 school year.

The first couple of weeks went smoothly and students and teachers are adjusting well. The beginning of a new year means a fresh start and an opportunity to set new goals to improve and develop your learning skills. Let’s make this school year the best one we’ve ever had!

We would like to welcome our new staff members to the Prestige School family:

Ms. Michelle – KG Teacher

Miss. Trece – Grade 2 Teacher

Ms. Alena – Elementary Russian Teacher

Mr. Arpaia – High School Teacher

Ms. Cheryl – Secretary

CHARACTER EDUCATION

This month’s character trait is COURAGE. Courage suggests not just being heroic when someone needs help, but challenging yourself to try new things, accept a new way of thinking, and standing up for things that are important. This month teachers will be looking out for courageous students and a student from each grade (KG – gr. 8) will receive the character trait certificate for this month.

The first character education assembly is on Monday, September 25th at 10:15 a.m.

TERRY FOX RUN

This month Prestige School will be raising money for the 2023 Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research.

Mrs. Amanda revealed this year’s challenge and fundraising goal. “If Prestige School raises $2000, then the student that raises the most from each grade will get to dump water on Mr. Aurelian.“

Prestige School has raised over $1400 so far, we are so close to our goal. Help Prestige School reach our goal. Donations are collected online. Click on https://schools.terryfox.ca/PrestigeSchoolToronto and then click on the DONATE button to give to cancer research. Please make sure to note your child’s name in your online donation, so that Mrs. Amanda can keep track of top fundraisers.

Prestige School will be participating in the Terry Fox Run around the neighbourhood on Friday, September 22nd during first and second period. Thank you for your donations.

ORANGE SHIRT DAY

Prestige School will be participating in Orange Shirt Day. This is a day when we wear an orange shirt to honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada. We also spend time learning more about the history of those schools and the effects on the Indigenous community.

On Friday, September 29th, students can pay $2 to wear an orange shirt. All proceeds will go towards the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. This fund’s goal is to improve the lives of Indigenous people by building awareness, education and connections between all peoples in Canada.

Please send $2 with your child, to give to their homeroom teacher by Monday, September 25th. If your child will not be wearing an orange shirt, then Friday, September 29th, is a regular school uniform day – it is not casual day.

Thank you for your support.
