CHARACTER EDUCATION ASSEMBLY

On Monday, September 25th, Prestige School held this year’s first character education assembly for COURAGE. Many students have been courageous this month, but some have been noticeably more. The students who received this month’s certificate are:

JK: Olga

SK: Julianna

Gr. 1: Emily

Gr. 2: Sawyer

Gr. 3: Victor

Gr. 4: Alan, Ava, Ayhan

Gr. 5: Alexander D.

Gr. 6: Noam

Gr. 7: Demir

Gr. 8: Viktoriya

October’s character trait is RESPONSIBILITY, which is taking action and understanding the impact of our choices. Mrs. Amanda and the grade 6s prepared skits to show the difference between being irresponsible and responsible. Great job grade 6s!

TERRY FOX RUN

On Friday, September 22nd, Prestige School students and teachers participated in the Terry Fox School Run. Students had fun running or walking in the neighbourhood to carry on Terry’s legacy.

Prestige students raised $2682 for the Terry Fox Foundation! Amazing job this year! Thank you to everyone that donated. Since we exceeded our goal, Mr. Aurelian allowed students that raised the most in their grade to dump water on him. Thank you Mr. Aurelian for motivating our students. Thank you to Mrs. Amanda for organizing the Terry Fox Run every year. Check out our gallery for more pictures.

Honourable mentions:

Madelaine (gr. 4) collected $685 in donations! She was the top fundraiser, once again, in the whole school and got to dump a humongous bucket of water on Mr. Aurelian.

Katya (gr. 4) collected $300 in donations!

HIGH PARK NATURE CENTRE FIELD TRIPS

Elementary students went to the High Park Nature Centre this month to explore more about nature. KG to grade 2 participated in the Sensing Fall program, grade 3 to 5 participated in the Flock and Hawks program and grades 6 to 8 participated in the I Live in a Watershed program. Students enjoyed hiking in High Park and learning about their program. Check out our gallery for more pictures.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

The Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that is fighting hunger in our communities. Every year Prestige School collects non-perishable foods for the families in need at Thanksgiving. This year our food drive is from September 25th to October 5th.

Ms. Michelle and Mrs. Kristen are organizing this year’s food drive. They are asking students to bring a bag of non-perishable foods. Please bring your bag to the KG room. Let’s make this year our most productive year yet!
