REMEMBRANCE DAY ASSEMBLY

On Friday, November 10th, Prestige School held its annual Remembrance Day assembly. Ms. Brittney showed a video, the school had a moment of silence, Sofia Z. and Emma (gr. 4) spoke about Remembrance Day and recited the poem “In Flanders Field.”

DECA

On Tuesday, October 31st, DECA students wrote the first part of the DECA Regional Competition online at school. Students gave it their all!

On Sunday, November 12th, Ms. Yana and DECA students will be participating in the second part of the DECA Regional Competition at Seneca College. Students will be competing against other high school students from around Toronto. Good luck to all DECA students!

SAVE THE DATE

On Friday, December 8th, all students must be picked up by 3:50 p.m. the latest. Our complementary after school program will be cancelled. School buses will leave at 3:45 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please make necessary arrangements for after school care on Friday, December 8th. Thank you.

SSAF SOCCER TOURNAMENT

On Wednesday, November 15th, Prestige students in grades 3 and 4 will be participating in the SSAF U10 soccer tournament at The Hangar (75 Carl Hall Rd, North York, ON M3K 2B9). Students will take the school bus to and from the tournament. The bus will leave at 8:15 a.m. sharp. Students will return to school by 3:30 p.m. Parent volunteers are welcome to visit and cheer on our team!

Students must bring:

– soccer shin pads

– soccer knee high socks

– running shoes

– gym shorts

– lunch, snacks and water (students will play approximately five soccer games, please provide multiple water bottles)

The U12 soccer tournament will take place on Thursday, November 23rd for students in grades 5 and 6. The elementary soccer tournament will take place on Thursday, November 30th for students in grades 7 and 8.

BEAVER COMPUTING CHALLENGE

On Friday, November 10th, grade 6, grade 9 and grade 10 students wrote the University of Waterloo Beaver Computing Challenge. Students worked through various problems to complete this challenge. Grade 8 students will be writing the challenge on Monday, November 13th and grade 5 students on Tuesday, November 14th. Best of luck to all our students!

EXTRACURRICULAR CLUBS

There are still spaces available in the elementary volleyball, soccer and chess clubs. Please email Ms. Yana to let her know if you are interested in signing up your child/children.

Students are enjoying the extracurricular clubs. The elementary soccer league, track and field club, and the high school volleyball and basketball leagues are enjoying their training. Students are excited to compete in various SSAF tournaments this school year.
